Hemdean House School in the Community

Hemdean House School has been in the heart of the Caversham community for over 150 years.

Our facilities are open to the wider community and we offer an on-site Holiday Club provision to all local familiies and are partnered with Energy Kidz.  There are also a number of after school activites that are open to all - please see 'Holiday Care & Sports' page for more details

The school hall and playing field are also available for hire when not in use by the school, ideal for birthday parties, family celebrations, community groups, AGM's, quiz nights etc.  Please contact the school office on 0118 947 2590 for availability, charges and a booking form.

Charitable Fundraising

Caring for those less fortunate than us in the community is part of the ethos of the school. Our charitable fundraising activities are an extension of this. The children are fully involved in planning these activities.  Pupils recently organised various events for Comic Relief, including a sponsored walk from Henley back to school. The children, parents and staff raised an amazing £1,185. Other charities that have been supported by the school this year include CIDRC, McMillan Cancer Charity and Readifood.

Our Meadows Madness stand was a great success. We raised over £90 for our two chosen charities Target Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer Care.
